STEPS met companies and organisations at Plastteknikmässan in May

STEPS had a stand at this year’s Plastteknikmässan in Malmö, 10 - 11 May. The fair is open for everyone but is primarily targeted at people working in the plastic and rubber processing industry, or with an interest in materials, design and development.

During the fair, STEPS hosted a panel debate on how to increase the use and availability of recycled plastic in Sweden: Så ökar vi användningen och tillgången på återvunnen plast. STEPS management and board participated: Peter Andersson and Søren Hvilsted. The event was hosted by coordinator Josefin Ahlqvist.

The panel debate highlighted issues such as opportunities and obstacles to increase the use of recycled plastics in the plastics sector. Departing from the industry's needs and wishes, and with examples from the waste sector in Sweden and Denmark, recycled plastic raw material was discussed against the background of the new regulation on producer responsibility for packaging and the EU's plastics directive.
